Poetry wall
In groups, pupils are using our new poetry wall to enhance their skills in using vocabulary to create wonderful poetry. It has been a great success so far and children are going away to create their own poetry books at home!

Pupils enjoyed a brilliant morning at Clip and Climb in Exeter. Many conquered their fears and it was wonderful to see the children supporting each other. What a great way to exercise!
Pupils, staff and parents raised approximately £170 for this worthy cause. Pupils and staff came to school dressed in pyjamas and had the chance to buy one of Sally’s homemade Pudsey Bear buscuits. We had an assembly from Kay Partridge (ICE Team) who worked with the children retelling the story of the Good Samaritan.
Thank you to all parents who shared this event with us. A wonderful mix of singing, dancing, reading and puppetry! A really outstanding assembly with so much to be proud of. Well done Class 1 and the teaching team!
Class 1 pupils produced some super pallindromes to link to halloween. They then transformed these into mobiles which we hung from the ceiling.
Staff, pupils and parents had a wonderful time at the Halloween Disco. Thank you so much to the PFA for organising this super event and to Cofton Country Holiday Park for providing the venue. Have a look at the super outfits!
We have asked children to write reviews that will encourage other children to read. These reviews include Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo and The Abominables by Eva Ibbotson. See what you think at leave your comments.
We are trying to enhance healthy eating at Cockwood through our fun cookery club, run by Mrs Curry, Mrs Buttree and supported by Mrs Phillips-Barry (Governor). The pizzas were a great success!
Pupils in Key Stage 2 have enjoyed some brilliant rugby sessions with Mark Lee from the Exeter Chiefs. Both rugby and teamwork skills have been strengthened through these lessons.
Pupils had a super time extending their Design and Technology skills through their creation of shadow puppets. The day’s experience working with an artist culminated in a whole school performance.
