The children had an amazing week in London last week on their residential. Firstly they visited Stonehenge en route and then explored the Cutty Sark, Parliament, Madame Tussauds, Tower Bridge and the Royal Albert Hall.

Pupils in Class 1 have been practising their 4 and 6 figure grid reference skills this term. This culminated in a treasure hunt challenge following a route around Cockwood Village. The children had a brilliant afternoon. Thanks to Mr McGrath for helping to organise this super geography event!

The children worked in their house teams to make Christmas decorations out of recycled materials. Class 1 spent an interesting afternoon with Debbie, our local Community Police Officer, doing a ‘speed watch’ on the main road between Exeter and Dawlish. With Debbie’s help, they each had a chance to use the mobile speed camera to measure and record traffic’s speed. The children loved catching cars close to the speed limit!…

Class 1 were delighted to take part in the Annual Rotary Club School’s Quiz. It is always a fun evening and a very well supported event on the school calendar. The children answered 3 sections of questions, 65 in each based on a range of topics including science, history, geography, maths and general knowledge.
