Well done to our two Year 6 students who were nominated as Head Boy and Girl for this academic year. They have already undertaken some activities linked around fair trade and will shortly be leading some initiatives focusing on behaviour. They are a super addition to our School Council and have done a wonderful job so far.
The children at Cockwood Primary School enjoyed a super halloween disco, organised by the school PFA. Thank you to Cofton Country Holiday Park for providing the venue free of charge. It was a super community event enjoyed by all.
Dawlish Learning Partnership schools visited the new Sainsbury’s store in Dawlish today to show their support for this years Poppy appeal. Staff and children from Cockwood Primary School, Gatehouse Primary School and Oaklands Park School were warmly welcomed by Members of the Royal British Legion.
On Friday 21st September, all of the children at Cockwood primary School took part in an ‘It’s a Knockout’ style sports afternoon. They competed in their House Teams through 4 events.
We have produced a really helpful guide for parents to help your children this term. You can see one for each class on the Classes link. You can also download the guidance for each class from these links.
Children at Cockwood Primary School have once again started our new school year with a Harvest celebration at Cofton Church. Our theme this year was making new words from the letters of HARVEST.

Back in April children at Cockwood were busy designing a menu fit for a Queen. They were helped with a cooking masterclass by the Head Chef at The Anchor, Cockwood, Andy. He demonstrated how to cook River Exe mussels and allowed the children to cook in a professional kitchen. You can see the original post…
Class 1 were extremely lucky to meet some very unexpected people on their recent trip to the SS Great Britain…. Dick and Dom from CBBC were on board filming a new television series! As you can imagine it created much excitement. The boys were very obliging and came and talked to the children.
